PL-4:
If your tremolo or bridge sits on top of the guitar body instead of bieng recessed, you want the PL-4. Also will cover accutune routes. See: Accutune tremolo bridge
With a narrower front than the PL-5, the PL-4 will cover the standard Fulcrum post spread on most guitars with a pickguard. Of course bieng solid 360HH brass means you will be adding some awesome bell tone chime.Adapter plate installation instructions here. Thickness of plate is .0625" (1/16") or 1.5 mm and made from pure 360HH brass and plated with black, chrome or gold plating.

PL-5:
The PL-5 plate is much larger than the PL-4. The PL-5 is wide enough to cover the edges of the biggest tremolo cavities like the famous "Floyd Void". These are huge recessed fulcrum cavities used for counter-sunk systems like the FR Lo Pro and FR Lo Pro edge. The PL-5, can be akin to taking a piece of plywood and covering a big hole in the ground so you wont fall in, you simply lay the plate with tremolo or fixed bridge over the fulcrums deep abyss, screw it in place, effectively covering the gap and adding you some awesome bell tone resonence. That somewhat makes up for all that lost wood that was removed by overzealous FR routers during the building process. Adapter plate installation instructions here. Thickness of plate is .0625" (1/16") or 1.5 mm and made from pure 360HH brass and plated with black, chrome or gold plating.
