The PL-3 plate is needed in case you want to cover exposed areas or raise a 2330 Flyer or any 3300, 3310 or 7330 Kahler Fixed Bridge. Because of steep neck angles on certain guitars, each plate can be stacked to achieve desired heights when the bridge is higher that most..like on neck thru designs. Each PL-3 plate is made from PVC plastic at 1/16 inch thick and will fit perfectly underneath your 7330 or Flyer raising it 1/16" (1.5 mm) or stack 2 for 1/8" (3 mm). There is another reason you can use the PL-3 adapter plate...
Sometimes you need to cover the old exposed side/front holes of the old Kahler Flyer when you are switching to a Kahler 7300 Hybrid system.
FYI: If your are trying to adapt a 2330 Flyer or any 3300, 3310 or 7330 over a Floyd Rose or Fender type slot route you will need the PL-5. If your are trying to install the same over a Floyd Rose or Fender type recessed slot route you will need the PL-4. Please, don't always assume you need a plate. A plate will always raise the entire bridge 1/16", and may cause you a chain of re-adjustments to get back your desired string height. Remember, a kahler flat mount was designed to work on any flat top guitar, however a Kahler is not large in size and sometimes can't cover up everything, so sometimes a coverage/adapter plate is an easy fix. I always suggest you wait on the plate until you know if you need it. There are no refunds on plates.
